Fixed Assets & Depreciation System

The asset register and the general ledger drifted apart months ago, and depreciation is still running on assets you sold last year.

Disposals don't get removed from the depreciation run. Additions get keyed with the wrong start date. By the time someone reconciles the fixed asset register to the general ledger, the gap has been compounding for a full reporting period and nobody can say which month it started.

The fix

How it solves it

This fixed asset system runs straight-line and reducing-balance depreciation as closed-form calculations, stops depreciation at the exact disposal date and calculates the profit or loss on disposal automatically, and ties a full movement schedule straight back to the register.

7Tabs
200Asset rows
2,169Formulas
v1.1Build version

Replaces the manual asset register, the separate depreciation schedule and the year-end fixed asset note built from scratch.

What it tests

Controls this system runs

  • Straight-line and reducing-balance depreciation — both calculated as closed-form formulas, not manual overrides.
  • Disposal handling — depreciation stops at the disposal date and the profit or loss is calculated automatically.
  • Full movement schedule — opening, additions, disposals, charge and closing — ties directly to the register.
  • Duplicate asset code test — flags a register that has been keyed twice.
  • 15-line exception panel with sign-off gate — the register can't be signed off with open exceptions.

Who this is for

Built for financial accountants and controllers responsible for the fixed asset register and the depreciation charge.

Questions

Before you buy

We're adopting this mid-life — can we bring in existing accumulated depreciation?

Yes. The register carries opening accumulated depreciation and impairment columns specifically so you can adopt part-way through an asset's life without restating history.

Do I need Excel, or will it work in Google Sheets?

Every system is built as a standard Excel (.xlsx) workbook using formulas only — no macros, no add-ins, nothing to install. Because there are no macros, the files also open in Google Sheets and LibreOffice.

What happens straight after I pay?

Checkout is processed by Paddle. Within a few minutes of payment clearing, your download links are emailed automatically from info@appiqfinance.com. You get the blank master workbook and a fully worked example.

What if it doesn't do what this page says?

Report it within 14 days with the file, tab and cell, and we fix it and redeliver — or refund you in full if we can't. See the refund policy for the exact terms.
